Synopsis
In a drama set in two bedrooms and a dark space, a man on his deathbed (Andy) reviews his life, loves, and betrayals with his wife Bel, while his two conspiratorial and emotionless sons sit in the shadows rationalizing their love-hate relationship with their now dying father and their inability to take steps to end the estrangement.
Reviews
The performances of Anna Massey and Claire Skinner as her ghostly daughter have an ethereal quality, superbly contrasted with the earthy double-act of the uncaring brothers, played by Michael Sheen and Douglas Hodge… The acting is uniformly excellent; not just Ian Holm’s apprehensive terror but also (…) Douglas Hodge and Michael Sheen’s buried hurt as the games-playing sons
Michael’s View
It is important to react to it emotionally rather than intellectually. When people say it’s a very strange play, I think ‘life is strange’
