Spill Media were commissioned by Neath Port Talbot Council Arts and the Arts Council of Wales to work with Dewis Housing – an organisation who offer supported accomodation, information and advice for young people in the Neath Port Talbot County. As part of the project, 5 young people interviewed Michael when he visited the Dewis office and used the skills they had learned from the Spill team to film as Michael visited the homes of the young people.
We’re so excited that Michael was among the winners of the Theatre Awards UK. Michael jointly won Best Director along with Bill Mitchell for their community production of The Passion. Congratulations to them! The ceremony was held on October 30 at The Banqueting House in Whitehall, you can find a number of pictures in our Gallery. The Young Vic has announced further casting for its forthcoming production of Hamlet, which opens on 9 November 2011 (previews from 28 October) starring Michael Sheen in the title role…
The principals will include: James Clyde as Claudius, Sally Dexter as Gertrude, Michael Gould as Polonius, Vinette Robinson as Ophelia, Hayley Carmichael as Horatio and Benedict Wong as Laertes.

Beautiful Boy was released on DVD and Blu-ray in Sweden earlier this week. We hope some fans already got their hands on it (we did and love it!).
The US release date has now also been announced: the movie will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on October 11. Again with new artwork, which we’ve added to our Gallery. The disc, which will include deleted scenes and an audio commentary track, can be ordered via Amazon.

All promo and press related images for the Young Vic’s upcoming production of Hamlet will be provided by Toronto based photographer Steve Carty. His photoshoot with Michael took place earlier this week and he shared some great ‘behind the scenes’ photos on his blog… Click on the link below to see his blog post. While Beautiful Boy is still playing in various Canadian and US theaters, the movie will be released in Sweden on DVD and Blu-ray on August 3. You can purchase a copy via the very reliable Discshop, but do keep in mind the disc’s region format. The release comes with new movie artwork which we’ve added to our Gallery…

BBC Wales has started the broadcast of Passion In Port Talbot, a documentary on how Michael Sheen inspired his home town to create the most ambitious piece of theatre that Wales has ever seen. You can already watch the first episode ‘The Town Tells Its Story‘ on BBC iPlayer. The second episode ‘It Has Begun‘ will be aired on Sunday, June 12 at 22:25.
