Bits & Pieces

Although much of the content of Beautiful Boy’s new second trailer is repeated from this first trailer, there are some important differences. Firstly, the son remains off screen for the whole trailer and secondly the emphasis is firmly on the ensuing strain on his parents (Michael Sheen and Maria Bello) as they contend with grief, blame, self-recrimination and anger.

Michael Sheen is set to guest star in the upcoming series of Doctor Who alongside former Coronation Street actress Suranne Jones. He will voice a character in the hit BBC show written by fantasy writer Neil Gaiman, according to The Sun, but who he plays is being kept tightly under wraps. The sixth series of Doctor Who begins on April 23 on BBC One.

Sheen is now in talks to join the cast of Dark Shadows, Burton’s film adaptation of the 1960s gothic soap opera. Should he sign on, he will be part of a project that already includes Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. It’s unknown what role he would be playing. The film is scheduled to begin shooting next month and will be released in 2012.

More from the Wales By Bike Campaign

As reported yesterday, Michael is supporting a campaign encouraging safe motorcycling on Welsh roads. Click the link below to watch a video of him talking about the campaign. We’ve also added two pictures to our Gallery…

Wales By Bike Campaign

Michael Sheen is backing a new leaflet urging bikers in Wales to slow down and stay safe on the roads. He has given his backing to the Wales By Bike campaign after learning that there were 25 motorbike fatalities across Wales last year. “While the number of bike fatalities has dropped since its peak in 2007, sadly one death on the road is one death too many,” he said. “Through my work with TREAT, I have come across many people whose lives have changed forever as a result of an accident. That’s why initiatives such as Wales By Bike are so important as they drive home the safe riding message to bikers so they don’t end up another statistic on our roads.”
